If you believe Parks Associates, the business for offering PC and server repair to small and medium businesses (SMBs) is a growing and lucrative opportunity. Apparently Windstream agrees. Today, Windstream announced PC Protect, a new service that provides PC repair services to small business.

“When a PC goes down, a small business owner has to deal with a loss of productivity and the hassle and cost of repairs,” said Don Perkins, Windstream vice president of business marketing said in a Windstream press release. “But with Windstream’s PC Protect service, business owners can guarantee they are protected and can rest-assured that their business can get up and running again quickly.”

PC Protect “…provides coverage for hardware malfunctions (hard drives, video and sound cards, and other essential PC hardware), Windows-based operating systems, and some software applications and accidental damage.”

The service is sold on a per PC basis of $4.99/month or a 3 PC package for $12.99/month. It’s also included in the Windstream Super Bundle, which offers Internet, voice, unlimited long distance, Online Backup, Internet Security Suite, and Broadband Protection Plus.
