If recent research by the Yankee Group is correct, 2010 might have been a turning point for hosted IP telephony adoption by enterprises. Where in 2009 about 49 percent of enterprise respondents said they were taking a “wait and see” attitude, in 2010 that number dropped to 15 percent.

Also, 2010 was a major transition year for hosted VoIP, says Zeus Kerravala, Yankee Group SVP. The number of companies planning a major hosted VoIP purchase almost doubled.
