frontier edgeFrontier cites competition from cable in the lucrative small business sector as one reason for their latest voice and data bundle promotion, Price for Life. The offer, which starts at $59.95 monthly, will remain at that level and never increase, claims Frontier.

“Cable companies don’t offer this, but Frontier does,” said Cory Jones, Vice President of Commercial Marketing at Frontier in a press release. “We are committed to helping small business owners and operators succeed in every way.”

The service offers a 6 Mbps DSL service and a business phone line for $59.99 per month, with a one year agreement and a $10 termination fee, plus the remainder of the contract fee for early termination. There is a $99 installation fee, which is waived for a two year contract.

Where available, customers can opt for faster speeds, up to 150 Mbps, for additional monthly fees. The deal also includes a free Wi-Fi router.

Competition for small business customers is intensifying for telco incumbents. Cable companies see that sector, together with enterprise, as their next growth engine. Cloud based providers offering hosted unified communications are also stealing market share.

Comcast for example cited 19.5% growth on $1.21 billion in revenue for their business services unit in 3Q15.
