Ind. Telco Software Firms Merge as NISC Acquires Computer Systems

NISC Acquires CSLLCMore merger news from the independent telco industry as the National Information Services Cooperative (NISC) acquires Computer Systems LLC (CSLLC) of Shawano, Wis. Both firms focus on providing billing and OSS (B/OSS) solutions to the independent telco sector. The transaction is expected to close on November 1. Terms were not disclosed.

NISC, based in Mandan, N.D., currently provides IT services to more than 165 independent telcos and more than 420 rural electric cooperatives.  By adding CSLLC, they expand their footprint to include the 54 telcos who presently use CSLLC for B/OSS services. CSLLC is currently owned by a consortium of ten Wisconsin based independent telcos.

“We’ve had the opportunity to work closely with Computer Systems management, staff and owners. In our discussions, NISC staff was pleased to learn that we share the company’s high level of dedication to solutions and service. In that regard, it is our goal to make the transition for all involved as seamless and smooth as possible,” said Vern Dosch, NISC’s President and CEO.

The move is in line with several other ongoing merger and consolidation efforts in the telecom industry. Service providers and the vendors that serve them are looking to build scale and grow efficiency to better position themselves for the evolving, and at times, uncertain marketplace.
