AT&T announced a number of new solutions designed to meet the needs of business customers whose employees rely primarily on mobile phones for communications. The mobile-first offerings are underpinned by a new partnership with Cisco.

The goal is to enable users to take calls across multiple devices while traveling for work, running errands, etc., while also providing a business with connectivity that is easy to manage and secure.

The new offerings include Cisco’s Webex calling, as well as SD-WAN connectivity with add-on services such as 5G and broadband. In addition, AT&T is launching a self-service digital purchasing experience for small and medium businesses, bundling fiber and mobility, as well as Cisco Meraki’s cloud-managed solution.

AT&T Cloud Voice with Webex Go will be available for all Webex Calling users from Cisco partners in the United States later this year.

A press release highlights key features of the new mobile-first services:

  • Single-number mobile identity: An AT&T wireless smartphone with Webex Calling provides enhanced flexibility and functionality.
  • Reduce costs: The need for traditional fixed business lines is reduced or eliminated entirely.
  • Fast, efficient and secure collaboration: AT&T and Cisco’s joint solution will aid collaboration, regardless of the location.

“Mobility is key to enabling hybrid work,” Mike Troiano, AT&T senior vice president, business products, said in a prepared statement.

“Businesses want a seamless and reliable communication experience. At the heart of our collaboration with Cisco is a shared vision to empower organizations with secure connectivity, unmatched reliability, and deep network expertise.

“By deeply integrating our technology, businesses can be assured their communications are built on a solid foundation. Together we are unlocking new levels of productivity, agility, and connectivity— enabling teams to thrive in the modern work landscape.”
