10% of Enterprises Will Add Desktop Videoconferencing

More than a third of 463 North American enterprises have desktop videoconferencing products deployed to their users today, according to an InformationWeek survey, and an additional 10 percent plan to roll them out in the next 12 months.
If respondents follow through with their plans, the additional 10 percent of organizations will have done so by about May 2012.
Improving employee collaboration was the top answer in our survey, closely followed by a desire to reduce travel costs. Employee collaboration and travel costs represent 69 percent of the responses about “value.”Some 78 percent of the respondents say they have conference room systems in place.
