Voice Over Internet Now Available Throughout Alaska

May 26, 2015 — ANCHORAGE, Alaska–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Businesses in Fairbanks, Juneau and select areas of Kenai can now use hosted Voice over Internet from Alaska Communications (NASDAQ: ALSK), the state’s leading broadband and IT solutions provider.

The hosted cloud-based communications solution reduces operating costs and increases productivity by providing feature-rich phones and enabling greater mobility with low up-front costs. Employees can also access their phone system on any device, anywhere they are connected to the Internet.

“Voice over Internet helps Alaska businesses reliably stay connected,” Director of Product Management Jim Gutcher said. “Since we introduced this product in 2012, we’ve seen tremendous growth. We’re proud to introduce these leading capabilities throughout more areas of Alaska.”

“Our Alaska Communications business representative took the time to learn about our challenges and come up with a perfect solution for our telecommunication needs. From placing our order to installing our new phones, Alaska Communications has provided us with consistently great customer service. Our new Voice over Internet system allows us to seamlessly connect with our clients,” Shannon Hamrick, executive director of the Kenai Peninsula Tourism and Marketing Council said.

Alaska Communications first introduced hosted Voice over Internet to Anchorage-based, small-medium businesses in 2012 and expanded to serve Anchorage-based Enterprise customers in 2013. Earlier this year the company enhanced its Voice over Internet service with high definition (HD) voice capability and upgraded existing customers at that time.

Packages include phones, business-class features, dedicated voice network access, the Alaska Voice™ mobility app for Smartphones and voicemail with Web access. Pricing is determined by number of phone lines and optional upgrades.
