Verizon Wireless apparently has something up their sleeve. Something they say that will compete quite well with Apple/AT&T’s pending iPhone. In fact Denny Strigl, COO of Verizon even went on to say that the iPhone will only be as good as the network it’s running on – somewhat of a potshot at AT&T. Strigl told USA Today, “We do have a very good response in the mill. You’ll see that from us in the late summer.” The details of Verizon’s response are sketchy at best. But it’s safe to say Verizon realizes they cannot take the iPhone lightly.
