Charter Communications’ Spectrum Enterprise has added two security products that aim to provide secure access applications and information on private networks or public clouds. The products, which come from Cisco, are Secure Access with Cisco Duo and Cloud Security with Cisco+ Secure Connect.
The products integrate with Spectrum Enterprise Managed Network Edge, Enterprise Network Edge and other elements of Spectrum Enterprises’ security managed network services portfolio.
Charter says that the products provide connectivity, equipment and network management in what it characterizes as an easy-to-use solution that offers routing, SD-WAN, switching, remote access and LAN options.
Layering the two products provides secure access service edge (SASE) protection, the company says.
The Charter Cisco Offerings
Details on the two products:
- Secure Access with Cisco Duo protects organizations from unauthorized access, credentials abuse and account takeover. It allows IT teams to set access policies by user and device, regardless of location and applies a zero-trust approach to access management. Key features include multi-factor authentication (MFA), single sign-on (SSO), password-less operation and risk-based authentication.
- Cloud Security with Cisco+ Secure Connect adds a layer of cybersecurity protection when accessing public clouds. The product utilizes a zero-trust approach to network access and provides a centralized and streamlined way to implement security priorities across every cloud location and device.
“Our new security solutions, developed through a collaboration with Cisco, provide additional layers of protection and greater peace of mind for businesses that are leveraging cloud-first, remote or hybrid work solutions to grow their operations,” Bob Schroeder, the Vice President, of Enterprise Data Product Management for Spectrum Enterprise, said in a press release about the Charter Cisco offerings. “These products offer additional support and expertise to help clients protect their businesses from the complex cybersecurity threats found in today’s working environments.”
This is not the first time that Spectrum Enterprise and Cisco have worked together. In February 2022, Spectrum Enterprise added three elements to the Managed Network Edge platform. The products are Remote Access, Teleworker and Virtual Edge.
