AT&T and Google are partnering on an expansive cloud networking and productivity services platform for business customers. Google Cloud Platform will join the AT&T NetBond for Cloud ecosystem. The Google Cloud Platform AT&T NetBond for Cloud deal will enable businesses to use AT&T NetBond for Cloud to connect to the Google Cloud Platform through Google’s new Partner Interconnect  program.

The partnership also makes Google’s G Suite cloud-based productivity suite available through AT&T Collaborate, which is a hosted voice and collaboration platform. G Suite includes Gmail, Docs and Drive.

The goal is to offer a wide variety of Google services in a highly secure environment. “We’re committed to helping businesses transform through our edge-to-edge capabilities,” Roman Pacewicz, AT&T Business’s Chief Product Officer, said in a press release. “This collaboration with Google Cloud gives businesses access to a full suite of productivity tools and a highly secure, private network connection to the Google Cloud Platform. Together, Google Cloud and AT&T are helping businesses streamline productivity and connectivity in a simple, efficient way.”

The combination of Google Cloud Partner Interconnect and AT&T NetBond for cloud enables businesses to push workloads across many cloud environments without touching the public Internet. Partner Interconnect enables private connectivity to the Google Cloud Platform and provides connectivity as fast as 10 Gbps to geographically distant data centers. The NetBond for Cloud ecosystem includes more than 20 cloud providers offering more than 130 different cloud solutions.

The partners seek to be a one-stop shop. “AT&T provides organizations globally with secure, smart solutions, and our work to bring Google Cloud’s portfolio of products, services and tools to every layer of its customers’ business helps to serve this mission,” Paul Ferrand, Google Clouds’ President for Global Customer Operations, said in the press release. “Our alliance allows businesses to seamlessly communicate and collaborate from virtually anywhere and connect their networks to our highly-scalable and reliable infrastructure.”

AT&T NetBond for Cloud, which was launched last September, enables a company to establish a direct connection between two clouds on the fly via an AT&T web portal.
