World’s First 16-port G.fast Demonstration Shown by Sckipio at Broadband World Forum

Broadband World Forum – Amsterdam, The Netherlands – October 21, 2014  – Sckipio Technologies today demonstrated the first commercial G.fast chipset connecting at rates of up to 700Mbps on 16 ports simultaneously at the Broadband World Forum. The demonstration shows the real-world potential of G.fast for delivering ultra broadband over existing copper wiring.

The demonstration consisted of Sckipio’s 16-port DP3016-EVM DPU with built-in vectoring communicating high-speed G.fast across a 50 meter binder to 16 CPE devices. This is the first public demonstration of a 16-port G.fast solution. The demo can be seen at Stand E60 within the Broadband Forum Interoperability Pavilion. “This is just the beginning,” said David Baum, CEO of Sckipio, the leader in G.fast modems. “We will deliver even higher rates over longer distances in the very near future.”
