TruConnect Acquires FreedomPop Lifeline Database

LOS ANGELES, CA, AUGUST 23, 2018 – Over the past 6 years, TruConnect has been committed to ensuring all Americans have access to basic telecommunication services. In its further effort to broaden its reach and achieve 100% connectivity, especially those in rural areas, TruConnect has acquired FreedomPop’s unique and proprietary ETC acquisition platform.

TruConnect aligns itself with the FCC, leveraging its new platform to better qualify Lifeline applicants and protect the Universal Service Fund with best-in-class processes. “TruConnect is committed to working together with the FCC and state governments to address the challenges
faced by low-income Americans on the wrong side of the digital divide, all while protecting the Universal Service Fund from waste, fraud, and abuse,” said Nathan Johnson, CEO of TruConnect. In addition, the company’s tenacity for unique and extensive digital acquisitions have enabled it to serve a broader set of customers, some of whom are unable to be reached by traditional, offline means. Johnson continued, “We look forward to working with Chairman Pai and the FCC staff in achieving the overall program objective of providing affordable access to modern communication services, including mobile broadband.”
