TDS Telecommunications, LLC will add nearly 15,000 addresses in De Pere and Allouez to its Green Bay, WI area fiber network.

The expansion is the second announced in relatively short succession for the Green Bay project. In October, TDS unveiled plans to add more than 50,000 residential and business service addresses across Green Bay, Bellevue, and Ashwaubenon to the areas earlier announced.

When completed, the project will bring fiber internet of up to 2 Gbps upload and download speeds to residential customers. Business customers will be able to receive speeds of up to 10GBps.  Consumers and businesses will also be able to receive TV and voice services.

In addition to the Green Bay project, TDS recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the city of Eau Claire to build a fiber network in that community. Also in Wisconsin, TDS recently completed its Stevens Point build and recently unveiled the launch of its fiber network in Wisconsin’s Fox Cities. TDS has been doing business in the state for 53 years and now serves customers in 32 states.

“Access to fast and reliable internet is vitally important as communities continue to connect, educate, and conduct business using websites and virtual spaces. As the City of De Pere also continues to expand our own digital offerings to our community members, we hope residents and businesses will appreciate having increased options for faster internet speeds,” said De Pere Mayor James Boyd, in a prepared statement.

“Now more than ever communities are looking for reliable, fast internet for residents and businesses alike,” said Andrew Petersen, TDS senior vice president of corporate affairs, in a prepared statement. “Fiber-optic technology delivers these robust, high-quality connections.”
