T-Mobile Announces New Switch Offer, Additional Partnership

T-Mobile today started offering a new promotion to prompt consumers to switch providers, as well as a new managed security offering, the latter in partnership with Palo Alto Networks.

The new promotion includes a new iPhone 16, without any trade-in needed, and up to $800 per line to pay any remaining balances for phones purchased through other carriers.

The limited time offer, available on T-Mobile’s Experience Beyond plan, also includes a five-year price lock.

T-Mobile says that customers who switch save at least 20% vs. comparable plans at the “other big guys.” However, it should be noted that such claims on savings have been challenged recently on who indeed the “other big guys” include and on the types of plans and promotions that are offered.

“At a time when everyone’s looking to save and fed up with confusing switcher offers and lengthy-device contracts from the carriers, T-Mobile is making it easier than ever to switch,” said Vinayak Hegde, T-Mobile consumer chief marketing officer, said in the announcement.

The new managed security package combines T-Mobile’s T-SIMsecure, T-Mobile Security Slice, and Palo Alto Networks’ Prisma SASE 5, a partnership designed for T-Mobile for Business customers.

Palo Alto Networks Prisma SASE 5G is a cloud-native Zero Trust security solution. It is designed to help businesses and government agencies to more securely connect users and devices to private, Software as a Service (SaaS) and internet applications.

“At T-Mobile for Business, we’re redefining secure connectivity for the 5G era with mobility-driven solutions designed to scale effortlessly,” said Mishka Dehghan, senior vice president of strategy, product and solutions engineering at T-Mobile Business Group, in the announcement of the new partnership.

“By adding Palo Alto Networks’ proven SASE capabilities into our 5G Standalone network, we’re delivering built-in security from the ground up, empowering our business and government customers with a seamless solution that protects their data across every endpoint, enabling them to operate confidently in an increasingly connected world.”
