TAMPA, Fla. – June 4, 2014 – Syniverse today announced it has signed an agreement with NewCore Wireless for solutions that will facilitate the launch of a new LTE network to serve NewCore Wireless’ operator customers. The agreement builds on Syniverse’s continued enablement of high-quality mobile experiences around the globe, including for many Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) operator members.
A global provider of managed network communication solutions, NewCore Wireless provides network infrastructure to Tier 3 operators around the world.
“As end users grow accustomed to the speed and service levels of LTE, they will increasingly expect access to the same quality of experience wherever they travel,” said Albert Kangas, General Manager and COO, NewCore Wireless. “We look forward to working with Syniverse and consider it an important step in remaining at the forefront of delivering the most advanced services available, no matter the location or density of our customer markets.”
Achieving effective LTE roaming is a complex challenge that requires thorough testing and issue resolution to ensure seamless roaming processes, such as diameter signaling, clearing and settlement, and customer-experience protection between LTE networks.
Syniverse has conducted end-to-end LTE roaming trials as well as commercial deployments around the globe, including some of the industry’s first intercontinental LTE roaming launches. In addition, Syniverse recently enabled the successful launch of international LTE roaming between two Tier 1 providers in the United States and Canada, one of the first to deliver cross-border LTE roaming capabilities in the region.
“Our experience in navigating the challenges of LTE roaming – including signaling, traffic flow, clearing requirements and a variety of other interoperability issues – positions us to deliver 4G roaming to our customers like no one else,” said John Wick, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Mobile Transaction Services, Syniverse. “We are pleased and honored to be selected by NewCore Wireless to help their business partners support the evolving LTE landscape and look forward to creating superior end-user experiences.”
The agreement with NewCore Wireless is just the latest in a series of recent activity with CCA and its members.
In February, CCA joined with Syniverse to highlight Syniverse’s Policy Management Platform, a comprehensive portfolio of solutions that provides numerous benefits, including messaging spam protection, bill shock prevention and service assurance, while preparing mobile network operators for the transition to LTE.
Syniverse announced in December its support of LTE migration for the Rural Independent Network Alliance, LLC, a collection of CCA members with its majority owner, Strata Networks. This agreement included core Syniverse LTE hub elements, such as IPX Network Solution and Diameter Signaling Service, empowering the group’s regional providers migrating to LTE via a future-proof backbone network.
