Princeton, NJ (June 17, 2014) – RCN, an industry-leading provider of high-speed Internet, digital TV and phone services, is now making available to customers at no additional charge its Caller ID on TiVo service. Launching this week, this feature will be available to new and existing customers and displays the name of the caller, and the number, on the TV screen during an incoming call.

This easy-to-read on-screen display supports multiple phone lines per subscriber and is displayed when customers are watching either live TV or a pre-recorded program. The feature also enables a second call to be displayed on the TV when the customer is already on the phone. It is another way in which RCN is continuing to fulfill its mission of improving the customer experience, while doing so at no additional cost. This service is available to customers who have RCN Digital Phone, along with RCN TiVo service.

“This convenient Caller ID service is another achievement in our relationship with TiVo, and also represents one of more than 15 free calling features included in the RCN Digital Phone service,” states Chris Fenger, Chief Operating Officer at RCN. “From RCN’s recent launch of the Netflix app on our TiVo service, to our recent introduction of the powerful TiVo T6 DVR, to now Caller ID on TiVo, we continue to prove that this partnership represents a total commitment to technology innovation and to making our customers’ experience as enjoyable and easy to use as possible.”

Existing customers can activate Caller ID on TiVo simply by going to TiVo Central, followed by Settings, Displays, then Caller ID. Once at the Caller ID display, customers will be prompted to check “Yes” to turn the Caller ID service on, or “No” to turn it off. The feature will automatically be set to “Yes” for new customers and begin working immediately.

RCN’s Caller ID on TiVo service is available as early as tomorrow to all RCN customers. The service is only enabled during RCN live TV or pre-recorded program viewing, and it is available with specific TiVo devices.
