Point Broadband to Expand Fiber Internet to Ohio Communities in Partnership with MVCC

CENTERVILLE, OH (May 17, 2021) – Point Broadband today announced a joint effort to expand its state-of-the-art fiber broadband network to communities represented by the Miami Valley Communications Council (MVCC).

The new fiber deployment will be an expansion of Point Broadband’s current central Ohio fiber footprint. The company will bring fiber-to-the-home Internet service to residents and businesses of Centerville, Kettering, Miamisburg, Moraine, Oakwood, Springboro and West Carrollton, providing symmetrical Internet speeds (same download and upload speeds) up to 10 Gigabits, along with a full suite of enhanced digital voice services.

“As a leader in connecting communities to the world-class speed and reliability of fiber Internet, Point Broadband is perfectly positioned to help Miami Valley communities get the Internet and other fiber services they need and deserve,” said Point Broadband CEO Todd Holt. “Whether it’s users working and learning from home, small businesses needing to connect with customers, or large institutions like hospitals, schools and banks, our fiber network is an investment in the future of the entire community.”

Holt added that residents and businesses in the member service footprint will now have a choice for their Internet service, which will help drive improved competition, service and pricing. In addition to getting the most robust broadband available today, Point Broadband fiber customers save money over cable because they can stream their TV content with no buffering, offering a more reliable, lower-cost video and entertainment solution.

“Point Broadband prides itself with our world-class hometown approach to customer service, and is committed to the communities we serve,” Holt said. “We’re excited to be the first broadband provider working with MVCC to expand broadband access to its members and look forward to serving these communities.”

“The partnership with Point Broadband is consistent with MVCC’s GATEway Fiber Network’s regional mission of attracting new carriers and competition to the market thus benefitting residential and business customers alike,” said MVCC’s Executive Director Jay Weiskircher. “Point Broadband provides consumers with reliable high-speed fiber network options at competitive price points.”
