Laurel Highland Total Communications, Inc. (“LHTC”) announced on November 5 that it has completed its acquisition of substantially all of the assets of The South Canaan Telephone Company (“SCTC”), a privately held independent telephone company operating in portions of Wayne and Lackawanna Counties, Pennsylvania, and its wholly-owned subsidiaries.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“We are a company with a 107 year-old tradition of improving the services we offer and responding to our customers promptly, and with the level of interest and concern we hope for from our service providers,” said Carolyn Copp, President of South Canaan Telephone. “We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Laurel Highland Total Communications to continue with a commitment to excellent customer service, community supportand the advancement of telecommunications services. Alpina Capital was an important partner in this transaction and facilitated a good match for us.”
