MANCHESTER, N.H. — March 28, 2022 — Residents in more than 5,600 homes in Charlestown, Greenfield, Langdon and Marlow, N.H., can now get internet service from FidiumSM Fiber, a new customer-centered, gigabit fiber broadband experience from Consolidated Communications (NASDAQ: CNSL). Service to an additional 850 homes in Unity will be available in April.
Residents voted last spring to approve partnerships with Consolidated to build high-speed, fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) networks to homes and businesses with no associated property tax increases.
With the company’s recent launch of Fidium, homes in these towns can now get an even better online experience. Fidium offers gigabit speeds without data caps, contracts or required bundles. The Fidium experience also includes whole-home WiFi, as well as easy, hassle-free installation with text updates, experienced technical support, and compassionate, knowledgeable customer service teams.
To ensure Fidium customers get the best online experience, the Attune WiFi whole-home management app provides network visibility, time-of-day access control, age-appropriate content settings, speed tests and more.
“Who says you can’t get super-fast internet speeds in rural areas?” said Erik Garr, president of consumer and small business for Consolidated Communications. “We’re delivering on our promise to ensure access to high-speed internet for residents in these towns and giving them even more with Fidium’s gigabit service and superior experience.”
Fidium Fiber offers gig-speed internet service at a straightforward price that includes installation and equipment as well as an entirely digital experience from installation through service with self-service options available on the customer portal.
“It has been a pleasure partnering with Consolidated Communications to provide Unity residents with access to fiber broadband,” said Heather Bliss, member of the Unity Broadband Committee. “Having high-speed internet at home has never been more important than it is today and will provide clear, reliable access to television streaming services, online medical support, school/work video calls and so much more. In the past, I have had to travel to family and friends’ homes to use their high-speed internet to reliably conduct many of my online business meetings. I am looking forward to being able to stay in my home office with my own high-speed internet.”
According to research data recently released by the University of Missouri, the availability of wired broadband boosts rural employment, with subscribers of wired broadband boosting rural employment even more.
Consolidated has completed 24 public private partnership network builds with network builds in progress in four additional towns across Northern New England. Along with Consolidated’s ongoing fiber expansion, these projects will bring its Fidium service with gigabit speeds and exceptional service to 1 million locations throughout New Hampshire and Northern New England by 2025.
Early Fidium customers, like Mark from Manchester, are pleased with the product and their service experience. On social media, Mark shared “I’ve had the service for over a month and, with a lot of connected devices and users in the home, I haven’t had to think about any interruptions.” He also praised the friendly installer and stated that he would “highly recommend” Fidium Fiber internet.
