Midco Participates in Emergency Broadband Benefit Program

May 11, 2021 – Reliable internet is synonymous with quality of life, so Midco is participating in the Federal Communications Commission’s Emergency Broadband Benefit program. The EBB program provides support for broadband services and certain devices to help low-income households stay connected during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This program will deliver needed relief to low-income families throughout our footprint,” said Midco President & CEO Pat McAdaragh. “Midco is proud to participate in the Emergency Broadband Program. Closing the digital divide is an ongoing goal of ours, and the EBB program is a tool to help us continue to do so.”

The EBB program is temporary and will provide a discount of up to $50 per month towards broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer or tablet. The EBB program is limited to one monthly service discount and one device discount per household.

Eligible households include those that qualify for the Lifeline program, are on Medicaid or receive SNAP benefits. To find out if you qualify for the EBB program, go to Midco.com/InternetAssistance.
