3/8/22 – Detroit Lakes, MN – In 2021, Midco began construction on 120 miles of new fiber along Minnesota’s Highway 10 corridor to bring gig services to more than 10,000 homes and businesses in the communities of Audubon, Lake Park, Hawley and Detroit Lakes. Midco Gig is 35 times faster than the average high-speed internet and is available at an affordable price. In the Audubon and Lake Park communities, construction is complete and gig services are now available!
Construction will resume in Hawley and Detroit Lakes early this spring. Midco teams will construct another 16 miles of fiber in Hawley and another 55 miles in Detroit Lakes throughout the 2022 construction season. Midco will roll out services as construction progresses, with the intent that all Hawley and Detroit Lakes homes and businesses have access to Midco Gig by the end of 2022 and 2023, respectively.
For residential customers, Midco Gig Internet will provide ample bandwidth to homes – allowing multiple users to surf, stream, download and game at the same time. For business customers, Midco Business Gig Internet will deliver the bandwidth capacity needed to support employee productivity and serve customers. In addition to internet, Midco also provides TV, phone, networking and advertising services.
“The current environment has made high-speed internet more important than ever before,” said Midco Chair & CEO Pat McAdaragh. “From distance learning to telemedicine, Midco uses our state-of-the-art fiber network to provide super-fast, reliable internet speeds.”
Midco Gig is now available in 95% of the communities Midco serves. It’s part of Midco’s ongoing promise to deliver services that enhance people’s lives wherever they live and work.
