I’ll Take U-verse To Go Please

Let the differentiation battles begin. AT&T announced “U-Verse On The Go,” a new service allowing U-verse subscribers to view select U-verse IPTV content on any broadband connected computer. A somewhat similar model to Sling Box, but with distinct differences, U-verse On the Go allows subscribers to watch select channels and content, not their entire U-verse channel line-up. AT&T is offering a free trial period, but intends to charge a monthly subscription of $10 after that. AT&T has partnered with MobiTV for this application. While it’s too early to tell if applications like this will survive over the long term, it’s great to see AT&T and others attempt to differentiate themselves from competitors and not go down the “me too” path with video services.
