Everstream Earns MEF 3.0 Certification

December 01, 2020 — CLEVELAND–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Everstream, the business-only fiber network, has earned its first MEF 3.0 Company Certification, validating that the business’s fiber solutions adhere to rigorous industry best practices for standardized network-based services. Everstream is one of 27 companies worldwide — and only the fourth with headquarters in the U.S. — to have earned the MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet certification.

“The MEF Certification is the gold standard in the industry, and we’re proud to have achieved this recognition. It demonstrates the quality of Everstream’s network and our fiber solutions — and further validates Everstream’s position as a best-in-class fiber service provider for current and prospective customers,” said Chuck Girt, Chief Technology Officer, Everstream.

Everstream conducted and passed the 10 Gb Ethernet private line (EPL) and Ethernet virtual private line (EVPL) tests. EPL provides a point-to-point Ethernet connection between a pair of dedicated user-network interfaces (UNIs), with a high degree of transparency. EVPL provides a virtual point-to-point or point-to-multipoint connection between a group of UNIs.

Specifically, MEF’s Carrier Ethernet standards define technology-agnostic layer-2 services that can be consumed directly by the enterprise or used between access, transit and retail service providers for backhaul, cloud access or multi-provider end-to-end services for seamless on-net and off-net connectivity.

Everstream’s enterprise-grade network delivers robust business fiber services, including dedicated internet access, dark fiber, Ethernet and data center solutions. The company’s advanced fiber network offers direct peering with all major carriers and cloud hyperscalers. With high-speed, low-latency connections, it provides converged internet, voice and data services at speeds of up to 100 Gbps.

MEF is a non-profit industry forum of network, cloud and technology providers. According to MEF, its standards, which form the basis of certification, are developed, reviewed, refined and ratified by the MEF membership to represent the hallmark of best-of-breed industry standards for network services and technology.
