WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Utah Telecommunications Open Infrastructure Agency (“UTOPIA”) today announced that Voonami, a cloud computing and data center solutions provider, has joined the UTOPIA network to offer services. Voonami will offer voice, Internet and private networking services for business customers, leveraging the ultra-high-speed broadband capacity of UTOPIA’s fiber-optic network.

The UTOPIA network, formed and owned by a group of 16 Utah cities, provides the physical infrastructure – an active Ethernet, fully fiber-optic network – directly to the premise. Private sector companies use the network to provide Internet, phone, video, and other next generation broadband services to business and residential customers. UTOPIA’s open access model creates the perfect environment for the best quality services at the best prices, giving customers the freedom to choose from among multiple service providers in a competitive marketplace.
