(NYSE:CALX) today announced that Craw-Kan Telephone Cooperative (Craw-Kan) has selected the Calix B6 Ethernet Service Access Nodes (ESANs) to move Fiber Forward in its network. In select exchanges across its 33 exchange footprint, Craw-Kan will be pulling fiber deeper into its network, leveraging Active Ethernet and very high speed digital subscriber line 2 (VDSL2) technologies to bring its subscribers advanced broadband services like advanced IPTV and ultra high-speed internet access, along with reliable voice services.

Craw-Kan will be leveraging the B6 ESANs and, where they deploy fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP), the 2000 family of optical network terminals (ONTs). These systems are the most recent additions to the Calix Unified Access portfolio – the most widely deployed fiber access solutions in North America as measured by both service provider deployments (Broadband Properties Magazine, October 2010) and OLT ports (Infonetics, Q4 2010), and the most widely deployed digital subscriber line (DSL) solutions among rural North American service providers. The B6 ESANs, with integrated 10 gigabits per second Ethernet (10GE) ring technology and sub-50 millisecond recovery capability for powerful access transport, will provide each subscriber with advanced broadband services, including IPTV, ultra high-speed internet access, and reliable GR-303 or VOIP services in the targeted deployment areas.
