Brightspeed Expands Fiber Access to Texas’ Bell and Coryell Counties

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — June 4, 2025 — Brightspeed, the nation’s third-largest fiber broadband builder, is connecting thousands of people across Central Texas to its state-of-the-art, high-speed fiber network. More than 58,800 homes and businesses in Bell and Coryell Counties now have access to the country’s fastest internet service, as determined by HighSpeedInternet.com Annual Service Provider Review 2025.

Only 55% of Texas’ population has access to fiber-optic services, according to Broadband Now. That means that nearly half of Texas’s residents can’t purchase a fiber internet plan and are missing out on the kind of connectivity they need to thrive in today’s economy. By the end of Brightspeed’s full fiber buildout, more than 97,500 locations across the communities of Copperas Cove, Gatesville, Killeen and Nolanville will have access to the fiber network, opening up new opportunities for remote workers, families, entrepreneurs and small businesses.

In addition to expanding high-speed internet access, Brightspeed is investing in the long-term success of the communities it serves. In November, Brightspeed joined the city of Killeen, including the local mayor, to announce the launch of its state-of-the-art network which will eventually serve the city’s entire population.

During the event, Brightspeed also presented a $2,500 donation to Communities In Schools of Greater Central Texas, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering students with the resources they need to thrive. This contribution is one example of how Brightspeed pairs infrastructure with impact, reinforcing its broader mission to uplift communities by supporting local organizations that drive educational and economic opportunity.
