Optimum by Altice USA Invests $4.6M in Texas Community

Texas — August 19, 2024 — Optimum, the local provider of internet, mobile, TV, and phone services, today announces it is completing a $4.6M investment in Tyler, Texas. As this investment is rolled out across the community, local residents and businesses can expect enhancements to their internet network and product experiences, the first being through the launch of Optimum Stream – the company’s innovative new video experience – as well as a deeper community presence in the area.

Optimum’s investment into its local network and infrastructure will enable greater internet network capacity, more reliability, and increased speeds of up to a gigabit through a variety of technologies that further builds out the company’s fiber-rich network across Tyler. These network investments and enhancements, being completed by local Optimum teams and technicians, will bring superior network and product experiences for area residents and businesses to rely upon for all their connectivity needs.

These investments come on the heels of the company introducing its new brand platform, Where local is big time, which centers on Optimum’s ability to bring customers the reach and connectivity resources of a large national provider with the localized care and support of a small business, catering to the unique needs of each community it serves.

“Our relationship with the Tyler community is incredibly important to all of us at Optimum, and we are honored to continue delivering quality connectivity services to local residents and businesses, now through key investments and enhancements into our suite of products and services in the area,” said Sean O’Connell, Senior Vice President, General Manager of Optimum Texoma. “We understand that these services enable our customers and communities to connect to the people, places, and experiences that matter to them most, and we are thrilled to continue bringing them strong and reliable internet, mobile, and video services as we work to make Optimum the connectivity provider of choice in Tyler and across the state of Texas.”

Optimum’s Commitment to Tyler and the State of Texas

Optimum serves over 300 communities in Texas, delivering internet, mobile, TV, and phone services to hundreds of thousands of customers. Over the last several years, the company has invested hundreds of millions of dollars upgrading its network across the state and has recently renewed its ongoing relationship with the Tyler community by entering into a new contract with the City of Tyler, which provides critical connectivity services to area schools, emergency services, municipal buildings, hospitals, and more.

Optimum employs thousands of local teammates and partners across the state and operates over 20 retail stores in Texas to provide customers with care and sales support, which feature the company’s full suite of connectivity services and complete line of mobile device and plan offerings. Through its care and support channels, Optimum has also seen double-digit increases in local customer satisfaction scores in Tyler and across Texas, marking improvements in customer experiences due in part to the availability of various digital support tools and services, including the My Optimum App, which make it easier for customers to connect with Optimum and ensure they receive excellent service experiences.

As part of Optimum’s commitment to making a positive impact in Texas and the community of Tyler, the company participates in programs with leading organizations such as DonorsChooseFIRST, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America to further support the education and STEM learning of area students. Since its partnership with DonorsChoose began four years ago, the company has donated over $50,000 to local schools in the Tyler area, funding nearly 200 classroom projects in 30 schools across Tyler.
