SouthernLINC Launches First Android iDEN Smartphone

ATLANTA – May 19, 2010 – Motorola i1, the world’s first Push To Talk (PTT), Android™-powered smartphone for the Integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN), is now available from SouthernLINC Wireless, a Southern Company (NYSE: SO).

The sleek, tablet-style Motorola i1 combines the convenience of PTT two-way radio with a premium browsing and messaging experience. Motorola i1 comes preloaded with the Opera Mini 5 Browser for optimized mobile Web browsing, Android WebKit Browser with Adobe® Flash® Lite® for access to content created with Adobe Flash and multiple keyboard options, including Swype™, for quick and efficient messaging.

Popular tools, including Google™ mobile services and Microsoft Document Viewer, help users keep the ball rolling while on-the-go. In addition, personal and work information, such as e-mails, calendar appointments and contacts, are automatically synced and integrated throughout the device, keeping users’ digital worlds connected. Moreover, Motorola i1 is Military Spec 810F certified for blowing rain, dust, shock, vibration, temperature extremes, low pressure, salt fog, humidity and solar radiation.

Motorola i1 comes fully-loaded with multimedia features, including a music player, stereo Bluetooth® technology and a 5-megapixel camera with flash, video, geotagging and panoramic capabilities. Store up to 2 gigabytes of images, videos and music on the included microSD memory card, or replace it with up to a 32 GB card, sold separately, to hold even more data. Easily transfer files, including pictures, videos, music and ringtones, from computer to memory card using the USB drag and drop feature.
