Texas-based service provider Ezee Fiber says that it has agreed to acquire Tachus Fiber Internet from Crosstimbers Capital Group. Both providers are active in the Houston, Texas area.
Ezee Fiber says that the acquisition of Tachus, which is headquartered in The Woodlands, will strengthen its footprint in the communities north of the city. The Tachus fiber network, which is completely underground, has more than 60,000 residential and business subscribers.
Ezee Fiber’s press release had no price, expected closing date, or other details about the deal. It did say that, during the past two years, the service provider has announced expansions in Houston ($200 million), New Mexico ($250 million), and Washington ($400 million). The Ezee Fiber acquisition of Tachus is in addition to these announced investments.
The company says that it plans expansions in additional markets this year.
“Bringing Ezee Fiber and Tachus together unlocks tremendous value for both companies, our customers, and the communities we proudly serve,” Ezee Fiber Chief Executive Officer Matt Marino said in the announcement.
“Tachus has established itself as a leader through its exceptional fiber internet product, outstanding customer service, and unmatched reliability. Together, we’re uniquely positioned to set an even higher standard of excellence in fiber internet. I am thrilled to personally welcome the talented Tachus team into the Ezee Fiber family and look forward to building an exciting future together.”
Last December, Ezee Fiber acquired fiber assets and networks from Conterra Networks in Santa Fe, Rio Rancho, and Los Lunas, New Mexico. All told, Ezee Fiber acquired 128 miles of fiber spanning the systems, which are in the northern and central regions of the state.
Although terms of the deal were not disclosed, Ezee Fiber said it included 128 miles of high-quality, installed fiber infrastructure throughout these areas of northern and central New Mexico.
