Louisville, CO and Petaluma, CA, November 1, 2011 – Cyan today announced that Zayo, a national provider of fiber-based bandwidth infrastructure and network-neutral colocation and interconnection services, has selected the Cyan Z-Series platform for an upgrade to its Manhatta n network. With the Manhattan network upgrade, Zayo is able to offer more advanced Ethernet and wavelength services to some of the largest financial institutions in the world as well as wholesale packet services to large carriers and wireless operators. The Cyan Z-Series packet-optical transport platform (P-OTP) has been deployed in multiple Zayo markets over the past two years — demonstrating carrier class reliability, scalable Ethernet services, along with valuable service management and SLA reporting capability in the Cyan360 Software portfolio.
“Cyan has been very effective for us across multiple markets so it made sense to look to them when we decided to upgrade our New York market,” stated David Howson, President of Zayo Bandwidth. “We see growing demand for both capacity and for more advanced network infrastructure technologies, including pure wavelength and packet services for latency sensitive applications. Cyan helped us cost-effectively meet that demand in Manhattan.”
Added Cyan Vice President, Sales, Keith Broach, “Zayo is emblematic of the forward-thinking carriers we like to work with — they understand that evolving packet networks will be held to a higher standard by customers who have stringent SLA requirements. The Cyan toolkit for provisioning, managing, and monitoring wavelength and Ethernet services is complementary to Zayo’s mission to meet this growing market demand.”
