Zayo Launches Professional Services Unit for Fiber Networks

October 01, 2013 — BOULDER, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Zayo Group, an international provider of Bandwidth Infrastructure services, today announced the launch of zTech, a new set of services enabling customers to leverage Zayo’s resources in the design, deployment and technical support of fiber-based networks.

As customer demand for higher bandwidth solutions grows, so has interest in comprehensive technical solutions to support data networks. Zayo developed zTech services to complement the deployment and maintenance of private Fiber, Wavelength and Ethernet networks. By leveraging the expertise and field resources in place to support its 75,000-mile network across the U.S. and Western Europe, Zayo’s zTech services enable faster and more cost effective solutions than staffing a dedicated team. In addition to using zTech for ongoing maintenance of Zayo-developed products, this service can be used as a stand-alone product on third-party networks.

The product suite includes network design and engineering, procurement, fiber route construction and installation, remote hands field maintenance, network monitoring, equipment/rack installation, network operations center (NOC) monitoring, building access services and other technical support services.

“We currently offer a range of Bandwidth Infrastructure solutions from dark fiber to fully managed shared networks, and this product leverages our experience on our own network for other’s technical support requirements,” said Matt Erickson, president of Zayo’s fiber, transport and infrastructure division. “The need for comprehensive deployment and support services has been a recurring theme in our conversations with customers and zTech is designed to meet those needs.”

ZTech solutions are currently available across Zayo’s international network.
