YouTube has formally announced its entry into the move on demand business, launching with about 3,000 new movie titlesin the U.S. market.

YouTube also will wrap movie reviews, trailers and “behind-the-scenes” extras into the service.

YouTube also says it is boosting investment in content being developed by about 20,000 partners that produce original content.

YouTube Next, the YouTube Creator Institute and YouTube NextUp are examples of how Google funnels resources to creators who work in Hollywood or in the TV production business.
