Windstream is taking its enterprise Ethernet offer to 11 additional markets. Windstream provides up to 1 Gbps symmetrical service with its Ethernet offer and markets it as a better per megabit value to T1, Frame Relay or Private Line services.

The additional markets include Akron, Columbus and Dayton, Ohio; Indianapolis, Ind.; Wichita, Kan.; Tulsa and Oklahoma City, Okla.; Northwest Arkansas; Augusta, Ga.; Baton Rouge, La.; and Mobile, Ala.

“We are thrilled that customers in an expanded area can now take advantage of even faster Internet speeds with Windstream’s Ethernet Internet Access product,” said Don Perkins, Windstream vice president of business marketing in a press release. “Windstream’s full suite of next-generation technology solutions provide businesses with competitive pricing and tremendous value.”

Windstream is busily building up its enterprise business services through both network investment and acquisition. It has acquired some regional fiber network assets and data centers. With its Ethernet footprint expansion, Windstream is connecting all of these assets with high bandwidth circuits and expanding its ability to service enterprise customers, well beyond its traditional incumbent territory.
