HOLMDEL, NJ – June 25, 2013 — Vonage Holdings Corp. (NYSE: VG), a leading provider of communication services connecting people through cloud-connected devices worldwide, today announced that it has been granted U.S. Pat. No. 8,472,342, “Systems and Methods of Routing IP Telephony Data Packet Communications.” The ‘342 patent was allowed in less than three months under the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Prioritized Examination Procedure.
The patented invention provides substantial improvements to voice quality in IP-based telephony systems. This technology dynamically selects the path of the communication based on network conditions at the time of the call.

The ‘342 patent is Vonage’s seventh in 2013. Vonage now has 25 U.S. patents and nearly 170 U.S. patent applications pending, along with many foreign patents and pending applications in jurisdictions worldwide.
