Verizon Vcast is Live

Verizon launched its mobileTV Vcast service today in 20 markets. Pricing ranges from $13 to $25, depending on the number of channels subscribed to. Verizon is using Qualcomm’s MediaFLO service, which can provide true TV service, as opposed to video clips. Handset options for these services are relatively scarce, but Verizon has announced handsets from LG and others will be available soon. The countdown to the first prediction of the death of landline TV is on.
