ATLANTA, GEORGIA – June 21, 2012 – www.uscarrier.com – USCarrier Telecom, a Southeastern provider of wholesale Long-haul Optical Transport Networks has completed an overbuild of the company’s Georgia network from Savannah to Macon which affects five Points of Presence (POP’s) across the route. Once again, Cyan was selected to provide the Z-Series equipment for this project.
The overbuild was a two night coordinated effort between USCarrier’s Engineering, Field Technicians and NCC Technicians without an interruption in service to existing customers. The upgrade will provide an express route from South Carolina and Florida to Atlanta, cutting the transit mileage across USCarrier’s SONET network in half and creating the ability to provide native Ethernet and Ethernet Exchange across these locations.
“The upgrade to USCarrier’s SONET network will sustain the evolving network demands the company is facing and position USCarrier to offer these additional, cost-effective services”, said Joaquin Luna, President of USCarrier Telecom. “Once again the USCarrier team has not only met but exceeded these demands and I am pleased to work with these talented professionals.”
This latest addition will complete two thirds of USCarrier’s overbuild projects throughout the four state network. The remaining one third upgrade to the network is planned for the next twelve months.
