Holyrood & Little River, KS – Dec. 10, 2012 – Two Kansas Telcos, H&B Communications and Mutual Telephone have switched their middleware vendor choosing to go with the Innovative Systems solution running on the APMAX platform. According to Mutual Tel GM/CEO Jimmy Todd not only were they pleased with the decision, but also were surprised that in one day Innovative was able to have a fully operational Set Top Box running on the APMAX Middleware at their location. Todd also added, “For us, all we are going to have to do for our customers is reprogram remote controls; we won’t have to roll trucks because the STBs will be able to handle the new middleware with minimal effort from our operations team.”
H & B Communications Systems Engineer, Brandon Koch, said their comparison of what the APMAX middleware could do compared to their previous provider created an immediate comfort level in the decision. According to Koch, “Things like the smooth operation of the guide, parental controls and apps like What’s Hot were important pieces.” He also stated, “We want to give our customers features that are competitive and much more local than what the satellite providers can offer.”
With an APMAX already in place providing H & B’s customers with voice services like Caller ID and Voicemail, the quick IPTV middleware deployment was welcomed, but according the Koch not surprising. “Our past experience with Innovative has been real positive and we have always been satisfied with how they have taken care of us.” According to Koch they had video customers that were ready for a change and to be able to quickly get them up and running on a new system was very important.
Anyone know for certain what middelware they had before they changed
