Press Release

October 24, 2011 — BELLEVUE, KANAWHA AND LEHIGH, IA – As three more Iowa telecoms have chosen to go with Innovative Systems’ IPTV Middleware solution on the APMAX™, a common theme is resonating among the companies, reliability and more features for the customer. The City of Bellevue Iowa, Communications 1 Network, Kanawah Iowa and Lehigh Valley Coop from Lehigh Iowa are now in the process of deploying the new middleware to their customers.

This will be the second IPTV Middleware Vendor for Communications 1 and according to General Manager, Randy Yeakel, “We have started running fiber into new markets and we felt a need to provide a feature set better suited to go head to head with other paid video providers and the APMAX Middleware looks like the best option for us.” Yeakel added, “We also like the blended service option the APMAX can provide us with such things as Voice Mail and Caller ID Screen pop on our customer’s televisions.”

As a municipal telecom with seven different businesses under one roof, Bellevue’s situation is clearly unique and according to Bellevue City Administrator, Loras Herrig, the IPTV Middleware on the APMAX fits the model of a utility company with the reliability of delivering service from a carrier grade platform. According to Herrig, “Bellevue has an older population that relies heavily on video and we needed a middleware system that is dependable and easy to support.  With older customers you are bound to have questions and Innovative’s built in support tools are far superior to our previous provider.” Herrig adds, “We are extremely excited about having Whole Home DVR which allows us to be very competitive with Dish and Direct TV.”
