Press Release

February 25, 2013 — HUNTSVILLE, Ala.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–ADTRAN®, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADTN), a leading provider of next-generation networking solutions, today announced that its Ethernet over Fiber (EoF) solutions are providing the infrastructure foundation for Texhoma Fiber. With more than 250 miles of fiber optic lines installed across Oklahoma and Texas, Texhoma Fiber provides wholesale internet, native Ethernet backhaul and transport services for communications, telephone and cable TV companies, as well as businesses needing high speed fiber optic transmission. ADTRAN’s EoF solution, comprised of the Total Access 5000 and the NetVanta 8000 platforms, offers Texhoma Fiber inherent protection and resiliency across its fiber optic network while at the same time enabling Texhoma Fiber to offer higher bandwidths up to 1Gbps and reach greater distances of up to 80km for their customer base.

Texhoma Fiber’s need for flexible bandwidth, improved service scalability, and increased performance to accelerate new application adoption were key considerations in selecting ADTRAN’s Ethernet solution. Texhoma Fiber knows that it is critical to provide its wholesale business customers with infrastructure which enables them to acquire more customers with better services sooner. ADTRAN offers a scalable solution that supports a wide variety of service migration needs as Texhoma Fiber’s customers continue to examine the demand for greater bandwidth. ADTRAN’s Ethernet solution also offers Texhoma Fiber an ideal transport platform for mobile backhaul networks to better support the growing bandwidth needs and meet the stringent SLA requirements of its Tier 1 mobile operator customers.

“We know that Ethernet over Fiber is the most desirable deployment model for our diverse customer base and that our customers turn to us for a high quality experience for their end-users regardless of how or where they are connected to the network,” said Dustin Hilliary, executive vice president for Texhoma Fiber. “ADTRAN’s Ethernet solution allows us to simplify the delivery of a universal service by using a common operational method which enables our customers to deploy services to the largest addressable market.”

“Texhoma Fiber’s ability to deliver an optical facilities infrastructure enabling its customers to capitalize on Gigabit speeds for the most advanced and in demand applications on the market today is a win-win for all parties,” said Mitch Fleming, vice president of sales for ADTRAN’s Carrier Networks Division. “ADTRAN’s Total Access 5000 and NetVanta 8000 platforms provide Texhoma Fiber with the capability of delivering unmatched SLA-based bandwidth and service reach for their broad customer base.”
