will launch service in the Madison, WI market. TDS will compete with AT&T and Charter for broadband subscribers. TDS acquired the wireless spectrum from a now defunct company called SkyCable TV. TDS does not intend to offer “portable” broadband through laptop cards initially, but will provide fixed wireless access to homes and businesses within their WiMAX network range. Portable broadband may follow though.
