TDS Breaks Ground on Two More Stimulus Projects

September 07, 2012 — According to TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®), construction is underway on two more of the company’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) stimulus projects. Construction is underway on a project in Indiana and Wisconsin. As a result, more customers will have access to high-speed Internet services.

In Indiana, {TDS’ Tipton Telephone Company} TDS has hired JDH Contracting, Inc. out of Plainfield, Ind. to do the outside construction work on this project in the Tipton area. Once the outside work is finished, TDS will complete the inside work. The project is scheduled to be completed and accessible to about 400 Tipton area customers by summer 2013.

In Wisconsin, {TDS’ Riverside Telecom} TDS has hired H&H Utility Excavating out of Plymouth, Wis. to do the outside construction work on this Reeseville area project. Once the outside work is finished, TDS will complete the inside work. The project is scheduled to be completed and accessible to about 200 customers in the Reeseville area by fall 2013.

TDS is receiving funding for the project from the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Utilities Service (RUS) as part of the ARRA.
