Nov. 13, 2012 — TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®) says construction is underway on three more American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) stimulus projects. The projects will expand broadband Internet services to more customers in Indiana and Maine.
In Indiana, TDS has hired R. Roese Contracting Company, Inc. out of Michigan to do the outside construction work on its Tri-County Telephone Company project. The project is scheduled to be completed by summer 2013, and accessible to about 250 customers in areas around New Richmond, Ind.
In Maine, construction is underway on two of TDS’ three projects in the state. In the Kingfield and Chesterville areas, TDS has hired McClure’s Communications, Inc. out of N.C. to do the outside construction work on its Somerset Telephone Company project. Scheduled for completion in the spring of 2014, the project will make high-speed Internet services accessible to about 1,450 customers.
In the Stetson area, TDS has hired NextGen out of N.H. to do the outside construction work on its West Penobscot Telephone & Telegraph Company project. Scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013, the project will make high-speed Internet services available to about 440 customers.
Construction on TDS’ third ARRA project in Maine, near Hartland and St. Albans should begin in a few weeks.
TDS is receiving funding for the project from the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Utilities Service (RUS) as part of the ARRA. For background information and updates visit: www.tdstelecom.com/MediaRoom/StimulusFunding.
They are all worthy projects. Anything to bring better broadband to the customer is a worthy construction project. Keep up the good work!
Well done! Beginning construction on three more stimulus projects seems to me pretty outstanding and truly I'm very much impressed by knowing about it. Thanks dude.
