February 4, 2021 — TDS Telecom (TDS®) announces six new fiber network builds in Wisconsin.
The company has started work on projects in the cities of Appleton, Little Chute, Kaukauna, Kimberly, Menasha, and Neenah, Wisconsin. When completed, a total of about 60,000 addresses in the Fox Cities area can connect to TDS’ high-speed internet, entertainment, and phone services.
“We have been a proud part of these communities since 1998 and we’re delighted to deepen our roots with this fiber expansion,” says Drew Petersen, senior vice president of External Affairs at TDS. “Communications services are vital, particularly now, and customers can depend on the speed, service, reliability, and fair prices we deliver.”
TDS will offer residential customers up to one gigabit internet speeds, TDS TV+®, and phone service. Businesses will have the option to receive up to 10 gigabit connections, dedicated fiber, and TDS’ hosted VoIP business phone solution, managedIP.
The company expects the first customers will be connected this summer. Services will continue to launch in phases until the build is complete.
Headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, TDS has recently completed fiber network builds in the Wisconsin communities of Kronenwetter, Rothschild, Schofield, and Weston, and is nearing completion in both Wausau and Stevens Point.
TDS contractors are actively completing as much work as possible in the winter months, and construction will continue in earnest this spring. The project will include installing fiber-to-the-home connections and laying underground fiber in neighborhoods and business parks.
