ALISO VIEJO, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMSI) announced today that T-Mobile® USA selected its QuickLink® Zero solution to simplify and enhance usability of mobile hotspot devices and tethered smartphones. The new solution will improve the reach of T-Mobile products and services to Wi-Fi only devices, while reducing customer care costs associated with complicated hotspot setup.
By simplifying 3G/4G connectivity from Wi-Fi devices such as tablets, netbooks, laptops, and e-readers, the QuickLink solution enables operators to increase engagement with their customers using large screen devices, which are more likely to generate additional services uptake by subscribers. Proactive alerts provided by QuickLink help users to understand which devices are connected to their hotspots and manage how much data is being used by each device, helping to avoid security holes. Through a consistent connection experience across device types, Smith Micro is dramatically reducing the cost of ownership for these devices while providing a feature-rich user experience to subscribers.
“We’re thrilled to have T-Mobile expand the number of mobile platforms on which our market-leading QuickLink solutions will be offered to their customers,” said Bill Smith, CEO of Smith Micro Software. “QuickLink Zero will provide T-Mobile a device time to market advantage along with rich features for service innovation that will redefine the hotspot experience.”
Smith Micro leveraged their Secure On-Device API (SODA™) architecture in QuickLink Zero, offering carriers a consistent way of communicating with mobile connectivity devices from multiple platforms, which reduces integration and support costs while increasing customer satisfaction with a simpler user experience.
QuickLink Zero and the QuickLink family of connection managers are part of Smith Micro’s Mobile Experience Platform that helps Mobile Operators, Device Manufacturers and Enterprises simplify and enhance the mobile experience while optimizing network and device resources. For more information visit:
