Syntrio Solutions LLC is acquiring the fiber-optic assets of Tri-County Electric Cooperative — based in Azle, Texas — to advance fiber deployment in the area. Terms of the deal were not announced.
Syntrio has served communities in North Texas and Southern Oklahoma for 75 years. The company offers internet and managed IT services to residential and business customers.
The company said it will integrate the former Tri-County network into the company’s existing network.
The purchase of the 250-mile fiber optic network expands Syntrio’s network coverage to include all or parts of Archer, Baylor, Hood, Jack, Palo Pinto, Parker, Tarrant, Wise, and Young counties. It also adds an extra level of redundancy by providing additional routes for the company’s fiber-optic network.
“We appreciated the collaboration with Tri-County Electric Cooperative throughout this process, and their shared dedication to North Texas residents,” Syntrio CEO Jason Tole said in a prepared statement.
“The transaction marks an important milestone for Syntrio and supports our mission to be a leading regional broadband provider. We look forward to serving and connecting new communities.”
Internal expansion as well
The announcement builds on Syntrio’s decision last year to expand its fiber-optic internet to neighborhoods in Aledo, Texas. The company said it was targeting areas that have the greatest need for reliable internet.
“Our commitment extends beyond high-speed internet. We aim to support local organizations and contribute to community growth,” said Director of Sales and Marketing Joe Bercik at the time of the announcement. “We are excited to connect these areas with multi-gigabit service and fully engage with the local community.”
The company also said it was planning to expand its reach, delivering faster, reliable, and more affordable internet to Aledo and several communities within Parker County.
