Press Release

December 10, 2013 — TAMPA, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Syniverse today announced that the Rural Independent Network Alliance, LLC (RINA), with its majority owner, Strata Networks, has renewed and expanded an agreement for a range of mobile interoperability solutions. The services, which include the addition of core Syniverse LTE hub elements, IPX Network Solution and Diameter Signaling Service, empowers the group’s regional providers migrating to LTE with a future-proof network and the ability to deliver superior end-user experiences.

“As mobile habits continue to evolve for smartphone users and demand increases for faster, more data-intensive services, deploying LTE capability is critical for RINA’s providers,” said Bert Potts, Wireless Operations Manager, RINA/Strata Networks. “Syniverse offers the opportunity to introduce new services, increase network capacity and ensure interoperability across legacy and 4G technologies, assisting providers through the transition to LTE.”

In addition to services provided through a variety of clearing, settlement and Real-Time Intelligence solutions, the Syniverse IPX will ensure a smooth transition to next-generation IP-based services in enabling LTE roaming for end users. The Diameter Signaling Service will help manage the complexities of the new Diameter signaling protocol and enable roaming and visiting subscribers to use their devices anywhere they go, just as they would on their home networks.

“As all mobile service providers begin to migrate to LTE, it is critical to build a future-proof network that makes the increased complexity of new technology transparent,” said Mahesh Prasad, President, Americas, Syniverse. “Having provided services for RINA for several years, we’re delighted to be the partner of choice for network evolution.”

Syniverse’s multi-service IPX platform will provide access to a full suite of roaming, messaging, network and Real-Time Intelligence services via a single channel, reducing each provider’s costs, optimizing the network, increasing roaming revenue and delivering superior end-user experiences.
