has updated their customer portal, . SureWest cites My SureWest’s capability to service SureWest customers who don’t have Internet service through them as a differentiator over other communications customer portals. Customers can access the portal through “other e-mail IDs such as Hotmail, Google or Yahoo.” Customers get the usual portal features with My SureWest including “personalized news, sports, entertainment, weather and stocks, and TV channel lineup viewing, as well as access to SureWest e-mail, customer support links, product announcements, interactive management of services such as Digital Phone and environmentally friendly online bill pay.”

SureWest plans on additional updates soon. “We structured the site to allow us to easily add more features and in the coming months we plan to provide additional national and local online video content, Web site creation tools and media sharing of video, music and photos,” said Peter Drozdoff, SureWest’s vice president of marketing in a company statement. The new portal is available to SureWest’s Sacramento market now, and will be coming to their Kansas City market in 2009.
