DES MOINES, Iowa, Feb. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — The State of Iowa, acting through its semi-autonomous agency, the Iowa Telecommunications and Technology Commission (ITTC), is seeking offers for the purchase or lease of the assets and business of the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) under the terms and conditions set forth in a Request for Proposals (RFP) #13-006 dated February 6, 2013.

The Iowa General Assembly approved legislation enabling the sale or lease of the ICN (2011 Iowa Acts, Chapter 122, Section 8 as amended by 2011 Iowa Acts, Chapter 127, Section 55) as supervised by the ITTC, the entity with the sole authority to supervise the management, development, and operation of the ICN.
