A new Sling Air TV promotion is targeted squarely at cord cutters. Starting today, viewers willing to shell out for three months or more of Sling TV service will receive a wireless AirTV Player and adapter for $50. That’s more than 50 percent off the standard MSRP of $129.99, according to a news release.

With AirTV, viewers can access their local television channels and Netflix content via the Sling TV interface, providing an integrated content experience. Among other things, that eliminates the need to work through multiple user interfaces or remote controls.

More substantially, the combination of Sling TV’s Orange OTT video service ($20 per month) and an AirTV bundle is ideal for viewers ready and able to cut the cord on their cable pay-TV services, Sling TV’s Glenn Eisen writes in a company blog post.

Sling Air TV Player Promotion
Sling TV is offering customers three promotional AirTV options:

  • Prepay for three months of Sling TV if your base service is $20 or over and get AirTV Player and AirTV Adapter for $50
  • Prepay for four months of Sling TV if your monthly payment is between $15-$20 and get AirTV Player and AirTV Adapter for $50
  • Prepay for six months of Sling TV if your monthly payment is under $15 and get AirTV Player and AirTV Adapter for $50

Sling TV points out that viewers can access available local channels by connecting their over-the-air (OTA) antenna to their AirTV players via the AirTV Adapter. For those without an OTA antenna, Sling is cutting the price of the RCA antenna it sells 25 percent.
