SCTE Offers Broadband Installation Guidebook for Cable Industry

With the publication of the “Broadband Premises Installation and Service Guidebook,” the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) has taken the first step towards offering a self-study e-learning program designed to prepare aspiring and experienced cable industry professionals for the SCTE Broadband Premises Installer (BPI) and Broadband Premises Technician (BPT) certification examinations.

“As cable’s role in the communications landscape has grown, so has the need to ensure zero-defect installations for customers,” Daniel Howard, senior vice president of engineering and CTO of SCTE, stated in a press release. “Working closely with representatives of the cable system operator community, SCTE’s Broadband Premises Installation and Service Guidebook and subsequent e-learning course will increase the technical knowledge and best-practices skills that today’s broadband professionals require.”
